Awareness and Observation

What connection, if any, do you see between the videos we watched about conformity and the videos we looked at today about awareness and abservation?

The question is " to be or not to be", is part of the daily quest each of us has to reninforce or to quit. The only difference is that when the teacher asked us whether we saw something different or not ,each of us had his-her own indivisaul answer for a simple reason, if you followed the crowd you will be asked to specify the difference! which is going to be sort of embarrasing.Another element is the atmosphere, having a situation where you have to choose to follow of indivisualize is different from public place and from a class room. So, it is different from what we saw in the videos about conformity, elevator used by public and humans want to behave themselves outside. The most important element, is the time when the expirements where conducted in the 60's and  in the 80's.People on nowadays are more opinionated and might behave differently if they had the same expirement!

Wealth Vs Poverty

Some people were born with a silver spoon; some were born with more silver spoons while others had none. Through this activity or what I call “little experiment”, I realized more than wealth vs poverty. I realized human nature and behaviourism.Although some of the wealthy class were suffering from extreme poverty, they worked hard enough to obtain this position; like myself collecting pennies with a spoon, the group overlooked that point and wanted almost everything I had on the table.
The fact that there are some people in this world who are “exceptional earners” was also neglected. For instance, the proposal for saving the US economy by raising taxes on people with higher income to balance the huge loss in the country’s budget to save everyone else below wealthy in the system, made it a group mistake over the 300 million population! It was not one person mistake or one group over another. I felt during this experiment, it was nothing but survival of the fittest. The purpose of voting by the group sounded like “take the wealthy ones down”.You don’t help someone by hurting others!
Moreover, I recall a TV program called “what would you do” on BBC, it is about creating situations in public and observing people’s behavior. Some will be indifferent for a moment and one behavior reinforced helping the situation or more stepped in, the indifference turns into an extreme behavior. Simply, if you don’t have a position just follow the crowd.
In addition, most of wealthy figure had already contributed to help indirectly; it is true it was not in cash or in one big check. The main reason for being an affluent is by having a business and this business never work by one person. So, more jobs were created. These jobs were to create a product to sell, this product was made to fulfill a need, this need is required by people who might include You!.
All in all, I think of poverty as global warming. In a sense that both don’t have clear cut solution. Think about this “can you stop global warming? Ofcoure not but you can slow it! A little contribution for the less fortunate can make the difference.
